Among the legacy clarinet manufacturers known for delivering quality for decades upon decades, Yamaha, Buffet, Leblanc, and Selmer have been king. New arrivals such as Backun and Royal Global have come onto the scene, but with over a century of experience, Yamaha is still universally recognized as a skilled manufacturer of instruments far and wide. This Yamaha Clarinet Model 52 is no exception. Its model number designation of 52 gives insight into the level of care put into its construction, since Yamaha designates instruments beginning with the numbers 1 and 2 as beginner-grade, those which begin with 3, 4, and 5 as intermediate grade, and those with 6 and above as professional grade. In other words, this instrument pushes the upper boundary of intermediate grade and nearly attains professional status.
The original Yamaha hard plastic case is included in the sale, and so is a Leblanc Vito II mouthpiece and a metal ligature.
